Personal Injury Attorneys in Virginia Beach

Serving Clients throughout the Greater Hampton Roads Metropolitan Area

Since 1988, Breit Drescher Imprevento has been dedicated to helping victims of negligence. Our team of experienced personal injury attorneys helps injured individuals and their families in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and throughout the Greater Hampton Roads Area fight for justice and the fair recovery they deserve. We understand just how difficult it is to put your life back together after a serious accident; you shouldn’t have to also fight insurance companies and liable parties for the compensation you are owed. Yet, many insurance companies offer injured victims settlements that are much too low to cover the financial, physical, and emotional costs of an accident.

Our firm has a proven track record of recovering significant results for our clients. Over the course of our decades in practice, we have secured more than $250 million in settlements and jury verdicts. Our attorneys have earned recognition from their peers and prestigious legal organizations for their work and their results, but we are most proud to have the opportunity to help our clients—real people with real, life-altering injuries. Our Virginia Beach personal injury attorneys are prepared to serve as your tireless advocate throughout the legal process.

If you or your loved one was injured in an accident, contact Breit Drescher Imprevento today for a free, no-obligation consultation. Call (757) 330-4099 to get started.

Have Questions About Your Case?

  • + - What factors determine who is at fault in a car accident?

In order to determine fault in a motor vehicle accident, your attorney and/or the judge in your case will primarily look at who acted carelessly, recklessly, or negligently. This is most commonly measured by examining if anyone involved in the accident violated Virginia driving laws. Even if a law was not directly violated, however, it is still possible to establish negligence. For example, if a motorist is distracted changing the radio station while driving on the highway, causing him to hit a stopped car in front of him, he may be held liable for any resulting damages. Visit our Car Accidents page to learn more about these types of cases.

  • + - How much can surviving family members recover in a wrongful death case?

Every personal injury and wrongful death case is different. The amount that surviving family members can expect to recover in a wrongful death case will depend on the determined value of losses. In most cases, juries consider a wide number of factors, including age and earning ability of the deceased at the time of death, the circumstances of surviving family members and the economic and non-economic costs associated with the accident/death. These costs may include things like medical expenses prior to death, funeral costs, the deceased’s income, expected lifetime earnings, pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of companionship, and more. The jury will also weigh various factors such as whether the deceased was the primary income earner for his or her family, if the deceased had any minor children/dependents, and whether the negligence that led to death was particularly severe.

  • + - What does product liability mean?

“Product liability” is a legal term that refers to the responsibility that product designers, manufacturers, and distributors have to maintain consumer safety by creating and selling products that are reasonably safe to use. If an unsafe or defective product harms an individual or group of consumers, any entity involved in the chain of production may be held liable. This can include the product designer, the manufacturer, the supplier/seller, or the company responsible for issuing warning labels.

  • + - What are the common symptoms of a brain injury?

Brain injuries of all types are incredibly serious. It is important that you are able to recognize the symptoms of a brain injury so that you can seek immediate medical attention if you or your loved one suffers such an injury. The most common symptoms of a brain injury include headache, nausea, dizziness, confusion, loss of consciousness, sleepiness/fatigue, difficulty remembering recent events, and weakness/numbness of one side of the body. If you notice any of these signs, either in yourself or in your loved one, seek medical attention as soon as possible.

  • + - How do I prove liability in a medical malpractice case?

Medical malpractice cases are notoriously difficult to pursue. This is partially due to the difficulty of proving liability in these types of cases. If you wish to pursue a medical malpractice case, you will need to prove that 1) a doctor, nurse, hospital, or some other medical professional or facility had a duty to provide a reasonable standard of care to you, the patient; 2) this standard of care was breached; 3) this breach directly or indirectly led to your injuries/condition; and 4) your injuries/condition have had a negative impact on your life. In many cases, the assistance of a medical expert is required to prove liability in medical malpractice cases. It is crucial that you contact an attorney who can help you build a solid case.
