Dr. Plotnick Faces Three More Virginia Medical Malpractice Lawsuits PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dianne Todd on June 14, 2010

Dr. Stephen Plotnick, a Virginia Beach doctor who is currently in the throes of multiple VA medical malpractice lawsuits, will soon be facing three more similar Virginia medical malpractice claims. Plotnick, who has had at least seven patients die from suspicious prescription drug overdoses in recent years, will now face charges from Patricia V. Waterfield, Michael J. Dirks and Gary D. Babcock.

All three new medical error lawsuits claim that Plotnick prescribed them a dangerous and ever-changing cocktail of strong drugs – many times without seeing the patients in person. This lead to health complications and in some cases, years of sedation and loss of quality of life.

Plotnick, a rheumatologist, has already lost Virginia medical license for at least two years and has agreed to no longer treat patients with chronic pain. In the recent past, he has faced at least a dozen similar medical malpractice lawsuits.
