Insurance Giant Wants Whistleblowers Fined PDF Print E-mail

State Farm has requested that the two sisters who released internal memos be fined for their actions.

The memos that the Rigsby sisters released detailed the methods used by State Farm to systematically deny claims filed by thousands of home owners in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

If the judge in this case allows the fine to happen, that would set a very dangerous precedent. Conscientious employees who know that the actions of their employees are deliberately harming customers should be able to come forward with no fear of reprisals or recrimination.
