Couple Critically Injured in Neptune Car Accident On Route 33 PDF Print E-mail

A head-on collision on Highway 33 near Neptune, Virginia, left a couple seriously injured on Thursday around 4 p.m.

According to Virginia State Police, 40-year-old Shannon Goodson and her husband 39-year-old Chester Goodson were driving west on Rt. 33 when they collided with a westbound car driven by 42-year-old Jesus J. Collazo-Gonzalez. Police are still not sure what caused the collision to take place, though one of the cars must have left its lane.

The Goodsons are from Virginia Beach, VA, while Collazo-Gonzalez resides in Sterling, VA. The Virginia highway accident closed Route 33 for three hours while police investigated the VA car accident and cleaned up debris.

Emergency workers used the Jaws of Life to rescue the couple from their car and then rushed them to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Virginia. Both remain in critical condition.
