| Ambulance Rear-Ends Big Rig in Rockbridge County, Injures Three |

Virginia State Police told reporters that three people were injured in Rockbridge County, Virginia, when an ambulance hit the back of a tractor-trailer on I-81 at roughly a quarter after 7 a.m.
The Roanoke Times reported that the emergency vehicle was carrying a patient between Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and University of Virginia Medical Center. The patient, a family member of the patient, and an ambulance medic all suffered minor injuries in the accident and were brought to Stonewall Jackson Hospital for treatment. They were able to continue on to their destination later that day. The driver of the ambulance, 24-year-old Dustin Dalton, was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial hospital with more serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured, nor was the other ambulance medic.
